Reimbursements are deducted. Itemized vehicle costs exclude that event’s miles from valuation; in-kind donated labor excludes the event’s time estimate. Other labeled financial amounts are excluded. Person-hours are counted once, without multiplying them by participants again.
Volunteer time uses Independent Sector’s national rates: 2014–2024 historical rates and the preliminary 2025 rate of $36.14 per hour, released April 21, 2026. For 2026 and later service, the saved calculation uses 2025 as a disclosed fallback until a newer rate is added. Earlier hours receive no dollar estimate.
Eligible mileage uses the IRS charitable rate of $0.14 per vehicle mile for 2011–2026; other years receive no mileage estimate until verified. These are community-value estimates, not tax-deduction calculations.
Only the current submitted revision of a report approved for public aggregation is included. Corrections replace previous figures; drafts, duplicates, superseded revisions and voided reports are excluded. Scheduled events and external calendars do not establish that service occurred.
“Community events completed” counts distinct documented activities with at least three VFW members, the Post’s internal qualification rule. This is not a statement of official state acceptance.
2026 calendar year: Jan 1, 2026 — Dec 31, 2026. Reports follow the actual service date in America/New_York. The current year is year to date; future activity is excluded.
